Re: Henry Croxson

6th June 1884
Henry Croxson was elected a member of Rochford and Rayleigh Conservative Association ( newly formed; having had three previous meetings) when it held its first Rayleigh meeting at " The Lion Hotel" ( The Golden Lion) on Wednesday the 4th of June 1884

26th October 1883
Henry Croxson was amongst those present at the first annual Tradesmen's supper at the Crown Inn, Rayleigh on Wednesday 24th October 1883. Many toasts were drunk and some capital songs were sung and a very enjoyable evening was spent.

12 March 1886
School Treat. The children attending the church Sunday school had their annual winter treat on Friday last at 5.30 p.m. about 130 scholars sat down to a substantial tea and where ----?after by their superintendent, the Rector, Mrs MacVicor and their teachers. After tea the tables were cleared when several pounds worth of books were distributed by the Rector to the most regular and deserving children. A magic lantern exhibited by Mr H Croxson entertained the children until nine o'clock

25th February 1887
Choir supper at Rayleigh.
Rector gave his "Annual Supper" to the adult members of the Choir and Ringers in the boys school room. There were also invited to meet them Messrs. F D Grayson, J Webster, H Croxson, E Judd and E Wallis. The evening was spent convivially.

24th July 1896
Rayleigh Fete, held on the 22nd July 1896
"The judges in the flower show were Messrs. G W Keightley, Herbert Newman and H Croxson"
"Pot Plants were kindly sent by the Rev. R C Rouse, Mrs Cook, Mr J C Edmunds and Mr H Croxson
