WILL of George Croxton of Little Waltham 1719
In the name of God Amen . I George Croxton in Little Waltham being in good health of body and in sound and perfect mind and memory praise be given unto Almighty God do make and ordain this my prefeat last will and testament in manor and form following, that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the merits , death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and containing the dispersion of all such compose my estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me and give and dispose followeth. Impris. I give and bequeath unto my son George one bed and all the furniture belonging to it standing at Benjamin Bridgemans in Terling. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Stephen all that my mesuage or tenement situated, lying and being in Terling in Essex with all the outhouses, wheelhouse and all the apparatus their to belonging and also I give unto my son Thomas that my mesuage or tenement called the Mill situated , being and lying in Little Waltham in the county aforesaid, paying unto my daughter Mary out of the said mesuage twenty pounds of good lawful money of Great Britain within three years after my decease and if she shall die or marry before the said three years are expired then the said twenty pounds shall be due unto her husband at the time aforesaid of payment. Item I give unto my daughter Mary my best bed standing in the best chamber and six chairs and one table and looking glass belonging in the said room. Item I give unto my son Thomas the bed and goods in the second best chamber namely one shelf of drawers and one other shelf. Item I give unto my son Jeremiah half my working tools belonging to the millwright trade and Also the desk and case and also the forth part of the pewter and brass except the copper in the brewhouse. Item I give unto my daughter Mary the best warming pan and the little oval table standing at Benjamin Bridgemans of Terling and one nest of draws standing in the hall at home and also the forth part of my pewter and brass and thoutorfills in the brewhouse and buttery by it as they stand. To my son Thomas also the scales and weights and stones and brass and sacks belonging to the mill. Item I give unto my daughter Mary two silver salts. Item I will that my son Stephen pay fifty pounds toward the mortgage upon the estate out of the mesuage of Terling and do order my son Stephen shall have a forth part of my brass and pewter and ordain my son Thomas to be my sole Executor of this my last will and testament.
