WILL of John Croxton of Ramsden Bellhouse 1664

In the name of God Amen . The twenty fifth day of April anno domini 1664 and in the seventeenth year in the reign of our Sovereign Lord King Charles the second of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, defender of the faith. I John Croxton of Ramsden Bellhouse in the county of Essex . Husbandman. Being sick in body but in good and perfect memory thanks be to God therefore do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manor and form following that is to say I bequeath my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my only Saviour by who's death and passion I trust to ---- and by your ---- ----- and my body I will to be buried at the direction of my executor hereafter named , Now concerning the disposable goods which it has pleased God to allow me in this world I give and bequeath and bestow in manor and form following. Impris, I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Jane all my lands houses and buildings whatsoever Lying in Ramsden Bellhouse called Boones only whatsoever named also to have and to hold the said during her life. Item to my son John I give and bequeath all my wearing apparel whatsoever. Item to my daughter Jane I give and bequeath our parsed cupboard being in the parlour, one bed with bedding and the furniture belonging there unto lying and being at the present in the parlour and the table ----- a dozen of stools that were formally Gabrielle Sawyers. Item I give unto my said daughter Jane two chests standing in the parlour. Item I give and bequeath unto her our brass kettle. Item two brass pots and the other great kettle and Item a couple of pewter dishes. Item I give unto my daughter five pounds a year to be paid to her two years together after that my son john hath enjoyed the house and lands to my said daughter Jane if she lives so long. Item all the rest of my goods not given nor bequeathed I wholly give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Jane Croxton whom I make and ordain sole executrix of this my last will and testament, she defraying my funeral charges. In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seals the day and year above written. The mark of John Croxton . Signed sealed and published the sixteenth day of May 1664.
