Know all men by there presence that we John Croxson of Wisbech in the Isle of Ely and County of Cambridge Butcher John Cook and William Calton both of the same are held and firmly bound unto the Worshipful Wharton Peck Dr of Laws Chancellor of the Dioceses of Ely fully constituted in the sum of sixty ponds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto the said Wharton Peck or to his certain attorney his executors administrators or assigns To which payment will and truly be made We oblige ourselves and each and each of us by himself and ourselves jointly and --- for the whole our and every of our heirs executors and administrators firmly by there presents sealed with our seal dated the seventh day of January in the twenty eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grant of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender o f the Faith and so forth And in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Five. The conditions of this obligation are such that if the above bounden reserving to Mary Norris her rights John Croxon Uncle and administrator of all and singular goods chattels and credits of Joseph Croxson late of Wisbech shoemaker deceased do make and cause to be made the true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of him the said John Croxson or to the hands or possession of any person or persons for him or the same so made do exhibit of cause to be exhibited into the registry of the Consistory Court of Cambridge at or the first day of February next insuring and the same goods chattels and credits and all other goods chattels and credits of the said decease at the time of his death which at any time after shall come to the possession of the said John Croxson or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him do well and truly administer according to the law And further do make or cause to be made a true and just attempt of his said administration at or before the eighth day of January next and all the rest and residue of the said goods chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the said administrators attempt the same being first examined and allowed by the judge or judges for the time being of the said court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as the said judge or judges by his or their decree or sentence pursuant to the true intent and meaning of the late act of parliament made in the two and twentieth and three and twentieth years of the reign of our late Sovereign Lord King Charles the Second intituled an act for the better settling of intestates estates shall limit and appoint And if shall thereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the executors or executors therein named do exhibit the same into the said court making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said John Croxson above bounden being thereunto required do render and deliver the said letters of administration Approbation of such testament being fist had and made in the said court then this obligation is void or that to remain in full force and Virtue
Sealed and delivered in the presence ofAppeared personally John Croxson of Wisbech in the Isle of Ely and the County of Cambridge Butcher and alleged that Joseph Croxson of Wisbech aforesaid died intestate That he the said John Croxson being uncle and nearest of kin to the said deceased will faithfully pay his debts and administer his goods as far as his effects will extend and the Law charged him and that lawfully called upon he will bring in a fine and perfect inventory of all the goods chattels and credits of the deceased that shall come to his hands possession or knowledge and have an account thereof when thereunto by law required of the tenth of which he made Oath of prayed Admon reserving unto Mary Norris his sister and aunt to the deceased her right to be granted to him as next of kin to the deceased
