WILL of Thomas Croxon of Stanford le Hope 1608
In the name of God Amen. 1st April 1608 I Thomas Croxon of Stanford le Hope in the county of Essex. Husbandman. Being sick in body but of good mind and perfect remembrance thanks be to god do make and ordain this my last testament and will in manor and form following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator and maker and to Jesus Christ my redeemer suffering to be saved by his death and passion and my body to be buried in the church yard of Stanford aforesaid Item I give unto Joan Blandon of Ramsden Cray in the county of Essex widow the sum of 20/- to be paid to her by my executor within 1/2 a year next after my decease. Item I give the poor of this parish 10/- to be paid to them by my executors. All the rest of my goods unbequeathed my debts paid and my legacies for filled and my funeral defrayed I give to Joane my wife whom I make my soul executor of this my last testament and will and I appoint and ordain Daniel Lolstoshe, gent, to be my overseer. In witness where of I have hane unto my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid above written. The mark of Thomas Croxon, Testator.
