WILL of William Croxon of Fyfield 1617
In the name of God Amen. The 19th day of the month of January anno domini 1617, I William Croxon of Fyfield alias Fyrgohead in the county of Essex, Yeoman, being of perfect mind and memory praise be to God therefore do make and ordain this my last will and testament in these words following. First I recommend my soul to Almighty God my maker, hoping my self of salvation bought only by Jesus Christ and my body to be buried in Christian burial in the parish of Fyfield aforesaid at the discretion of my executors here after named. Item I give and bequeath unto the poor people of Ramsden Cray 20/- of good and legal English money to be paid within one year after my decease by my executors. Item I give unto the poor people of Ramsden Bellhouse 20/- of good and legal English money to be paid within one year after my decease by my executors. Item I give unto the poor people of Fyfield aforesaid 20/- of good and legal English money to be paid within one year after my decease by my executors. Item I give unto my brother Marshall 20/- and all my apparel. I give unto Richard Croxon and Henry Croxon bondsmen 20/- a piece. Item I give unto Phoebe Lane my bondswoman 40/-. Item I give unto Alice Croxon and Agnes Croxon my bondswomen to each of them 20/- a piece. Item I give and bequeath unto Jane my wife all my copyhold messuages or tenements and all the lands and apportionment's within landship of FYFIELD Hall alias Fyshogoad Hall to the use and benefit of Jane my aforesaid wife during her natural life and after her decease to udmaine unto the use of William Croxon my oldest son and his heirs for ever. Item. I will to Jane my wife, my tenement lands in the parish of Ramsden Bellhouse to the use of my aforesaid wife to that unto the purpose and upon condition that shall sell the same to her ----------- Tenement lands and all apportionment's within the year next after my decease and pay all debts with the money there of and the rest of the money remaining shall be for her use and benefit and provide of my three children William John and James my sons to give the said at the age of 23 years viz. to William my son £20, to John my son £40 and to James my son £35 to be paid to them or there heirs at the years said all age aforesaid and paid all waint and upon---- that if Jane my said wife do not sell the said tenement and lands aforesaid according to the intent and terms and meaning of this will and testament and it shall happen that she shall be married to any other man then my mind and will is that she and -----all happen to nain or shall remain unto John and James my brothers and their heirs upon condition that they or their heirs shall sell the tenement and lands aforesaid with apportionment's to the aforementioned and pay all my debts and the money remaining, have or shall be remaining to the use of my three sons and there heirs provided all wonst and if my son William will not survive Jane my wife to enjoy the benefit of lands until he come of age of 21 years then my said wife shall--- his aforesaid to her use after my debts paid and my funeral discharged it my will performed I will give and bequeath all my movable and immovable goods unbequeathed unto Jane my wife and do make and ordain Jane my said wife my sole executrix of this my last will and testament. I make overseers John and Jeramy my brothers and witnesses unto this-- |
